Nora L. Nakonsky, 75, of Salem, Oregon, formerly of Lebanon, Oregon, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008 at the Salem Hospital.
She was born on February 5, 1933 in Corvallis, Oregon to Frank and Grace (Farmer) Donovan.
Nora grew up in Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon High School. She married William J. Nakonsky on April 20, 1951 in Lebanon. They lived in Lebanon until 1973 when they moved to Albany. They moved to Yakima, Washington in 1974 and later moved to Longview, Washington. Nora moved to Salem in 1994 and has lived there since.
While in Lebanon, Nora attended the Lebanon First Christian Church.
She enjoyed crocheting and gardening and loved to cook.
She is survived by sons Tim Nakonsky of Salem and Randy and Ron Nakonsky both of Longview; brothers Mel Donovan of Lacomb, Oregon and Dwayne Donovan of Dupont, Washington; sister Darlene Dunckly of Redmond, Oregon; 5 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Nora was preceded in death by her husband William on August 21, 1989; grandson Toby; and granddaughter Tana.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 18th at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Lebanon.
