CoraBelle “Corky” Neustel, 99, of Lebanon, died Thursday, Oct. 4 at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.
Cora was born in Center Point, Lynn Co., Iowa to William and Isabelle (Sommers) Woods. The family moved to Minnesota where Cora received her schooling. She married Martin Neustel on Sept. 14, 1924. They moved to Lebanon in 1925 and have resided here since that time.
Cora was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also loved to make homemade bread, cinnamon rolls, hunting, fishing and was very fond of the Oregon Mountains.
She is survived by her children Vernon Neustel of Winston, OR, June Brown of Vashon, WA, Dorothy Lemons, Doris Smith and Ed Neustel all of Lebanon, 20 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Martin in 1978, two daughters, baby Alice Neustel and Leona May Thoma, 2 grandsons, Craig and Mark Neustel, and 1 great granddaughter, Windy Winter.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 8, at Huston-Jost Funeral Home. Private burial will follow at the Lebanon I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
